So there’s an episode of You’re the Worst in which one of the main characters is procrastinating working on his novel, despite everyone around him bugging him about it. When he is caught playing a cute animal video game instead of writing, he defends it to his girlfriend as “But this is part of the process! It’s ALL writing!” And honestly… there is some truth to it! Because stepping away from something can give you clarity like nothing else can—thus, not writing is inherently part of the writing process and should be budgeted in rather than seeing as any sort of genuine failure. Within reason, I guess. But I say that in my head all the time when I’m taking a break from anything I want to pursue: “It’s ALL writing!”
OK, I really do need to watch this show. And yes, so true. You need the negative space to allow your creativity to refill and somehow I forget this every single time?? I should budget it in...
I laughed out loud many times in a very quiet library. I can’t wait to see what you chose. (I think it’s Theatre kids.)
LOL very happy to contribute to a publicly awkward moment.
Soooooo relatable! Can’t wait to see what you chose so I know what to do with the same conundrum 😅🫠. Also - perfect Micheal Scott meme 😭
Thanks Jaime!! <33
Finish Theater Kids, I want to read it!!!!
😘
